Paintings and Work on Paper

Ok, what's been going on around here?

Stevensolo: Comics influenced painting on wood boxes, doors and paper. Cartoon Box Breakup is a good example of this approach. Relatively recently posted are Drugstore Nightowl, Famous Ex Quote and 1,2,3,4.

November Series: Text and shapes--what Get Happy! or Taking Liberties was to Armed Forces, if you know what I mean. The  "Directions To Myself"  in this case are:
Keep it simple
1,2,3,4 movements
No fussing
Resensitize yourself to the white of the paper.
Text can be a drawing.

"There is joy in repetition."-Prince
No need to be so confessional, if someone finds that to be cryptic, so what?

Lowlywaiter: Video confessionals using sharpies and legal note pads. This experiment helps to generate ideas and is a counterpoint to some of the other projects, even if it is more process than product.

Other projects

I am doing the graphics for Terroir wine bar. T-shirts, winelist design, stickers. It is a design job and not painting, but the overlap in concepts is pretty strong.Maybe so strong that it's a whole new context for everything I do.
